"A Million Ways to Die in the West" is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It has one and a half good jokes in the entire sorry mess. It DOES have Charlize Theron playing a sympathetic character for the first time in a long time, but that doesn't pay the freight on two hours of lame jokes.
Friday I went sought and had dinner with my dad, spent some time with brother Pete and family, and then drove to Paw Paw Michigan en route to what Dementia refers to as the "Poker Sleepover". One of the regulars in the monthly game has a house on Gravel Lake, and the game was moved there for June. People started showing up around noon and did lake things until the game started after supper. Me, I blew off the Rend Lake messabout on the basis of weather, and got my canoe into the water for the first time this year at Gravel Lake. And THEN I managed to finish second in the first poker touney of the night. Much fun.
Thursday I mowed the front lawn for the second time (no big deal), and then took on the back yard for the first time this year. Grinding 30 inches of wild growth into green paste is WORK. Still plenty to do, though.
Friday I did some minor home repairs, and then did a bunch of boat related carpentry. Didn't quite get to the point of finally varnishing the odds and ends I build when I first assembled the canoe two years ago. Almost. Still hoping to finish that and get the boat in the water before I go back to work on Friday night.
