"The Tourist" is a contemporary thriller that lives up to its expectations. Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie run around Venice and people shoot at them; a good time is had by all. Timothy Dalton's character is GREAT.
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" finally brings the most FUN volume of the Narnia saga to the screen. It works well, and was (mostly) worth the wait. I hope it plays as well for those who have not read the books as it does for me.
On Monday, I packed up and drove down to Anderson, picked up the Rev. Bob (who had been in town for a Saturday wedding), and headed into Indianapolis for a night of Tunnels & Trolls at the Arsenal Game Room and Cafe. We were there from 6:30 to midnight, and had a great time; I think this was the first time I had played T&T face to face since about 1981. On Tuesday, we blodged about, visited some of Bob's relatives, and saw a movie; on Wednesday, we did more blodging, saw two more movies, and spent several hours hanging out with the legendary Steve Lortz. On Thursday, I came home. En route, I was accosted in the parking lot of the Anderson Target by a young woman who needed a ride to the north side of the city, which I gave her. It is a bit disconcerting to think that I am perceived as sufficiently non-threatening for something like that to happen, though.
