On July 5, once I regained consciousness, I very reluctantly mowed the front lawn (which had gotten past the point where the city could have sent me a nastygram, so I really had no choice), and then went back south to play in my first poker tourney in three months. I ended in the middle of the pack in both tourneys, but had a good time anyway. I got home about 4:00 AM, got four hours of sleep, then we went out to the movies and saw what might be the best double feature we have ever seen, consisting of "White House Down" and "The Lone Ranger", which were each so good that I am going to give them a separate entry.
Today we made our annual trip to the local Ren Faire, and had a good time. Dementia did casual costuming, and I decided it was just too hot and made no effort at all. Along the way, I bought a set of runestones carved from deer antler, did three of my Asatru poems, and told a pretty barmaid about Hob Gadling, and why I tell vendors at the Ren Faire not ring the silly bell. I also ran into the magical Ms Quin. A good day all around.
