I have gotten into the habit, weather permitting, of walking down to the local convenience store, a Citgo station, for "coffee" (actually Dr. Pepper) on the days that I don't work. It's about a one mile round trip, and takes about 20 minutes. We are going to the Ren Faire today, and wanted an early start, but is still not 7:00 AM, so I left Dementia sleeping and set out.
The store was padlocked. Damn.
Half a mile west to the Mobil station. Padlocked. Double damn.
A mile north to the Clark station. Padlocked. What the bloody hell? Has there been some ecumenical rapture that only effect convenience store employees?
Half a mile east to the BP. Finally, capitilism thrives!
Home again after 2.85 miles and the better part of an hour. Still no idea what is going on.
