"Birdman" is has an excellent cast who perform well-written dialog brilliantly. The cinematography is claustrophobic, but deliberately so. I am certain that the triple-hat writer-producer-director is content with every frame of this movie, and I strongly suspect that he also believes he said something meaningful. He is wrong on that point. Once again, I am glad I saw this movie, but am not inclined to recommend it to anyone.
"Nightcrawler" is a well made creepy movie whose main message seems to be that TV news production is a great career path for sociopaths. This is not a hard message to accept.
"The Theory of Everything" is an excellent Stephen Hawking biopic. The story is often painful, but that is reality's fault. We enjoyed this one a great deal.
