"Big Eyes" is the more-than-slightly bizarre story of artist Margaret Keane and her fight to be recognized as an artist in her own right. The movie is very well done, and makes a few interesting points: First, a SUCCESSFUL artist is an amalgamation of a TALENTED artist and a successful promoter; these two may be the same person, but they are both necessary. Second: People with more charisma than brains, to the extent that they believe their own lies, are SCARY (and this dredges up memories of Clueless Tom). The film is worth seeing in any case.
"Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb" is yet another (and deliberately the last) entry in this oddball contemporary fantasy series. It is also Robin Williams' last film. It is much of a piece with its predecessors; if you liked them, you should like this. We did, mostly (Dementia more than I, but she picked the movie).
