"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is another Marvel movie. It isn't as good as the first Avengers movie, but it is still a lot of fun. It is more than a little bloated, but Whedon's ability to work characters shines through. We enjoyed it a great deal.
"Mad Max: Fury Road" is busy and bloated and mind bendingly silly, but it manages to make you care about at least some of the characters before the thing is over. We don't regret seeing it.
"Pitch Perfect 2" is a mediocre sequel to a movie that wasn't all THAT great in the first place. The first movie was a light-hearted "triumph of the underdog" story; this one is much closer to being a straight out comedy. Given that I don't like comedies in general, and REALLY don't like Rebel Wilson, I enjoyed this thing more than makes sense.
May poker went well enough; I was fifth of seven in the first round, third of eight in the second. There was one bizarre hand in which four players were active, three of them all in, and three of the us survived; I pulled a flush on the river and quaded up, which let me survive a another couple of rounds of the table.
I have been down to visit my father twice, once as a prelude to the poker game. He is more present and functional this week than he was last week, but he is still significantly diminished from where he was before the fall. The hope is that he will still be able to return to his apartment; we shall see.
