"Deadpool" is extremely bloody, extremely vulgar, very funny, and includes a decent love story. VERY hard R, but worth seeing anyway.
"Hail Caesar" is weird. This movie exists for two reasons: One was to give the Coen brothers wanted an excuse to do homage/parodies of some classic Hollywood production numbers, and the other was, I am convinced, to say something. I think they succeeded, but the message is a riddle. Or rather, the whole movie is a riddle. I am not convinced that the result is worth the effort of figuring it out.
"The Witch" is essentially a filmed dramatization of a mid-seventeenth century hellfire preacher's version of the evils of witchcraft. It is interesting, but not really entertaining.
"The Maltese Falcon" was available in retrospective, and I tried to watch it for the first time on the big screen, but I was just too tired. Great movie anyway.
Went to my fifth BashCon in Toledo last weekend. I had fun in spite of getting sick and spending much of Saturday in bed. More details later.
